In the period from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024, the DDLitLab funded 14 innovative student projects. This gave students the opportunity to develop their own research initiatives independently and implement them with the support of mentors, acquiring valuable skills in both scientific work and data literacy.
A special event was the presentation event on 17 April, which not only represented an important milestone in the funding of student projects, but also marked the successful completion of the second and third funding rounds. At the event, the student groups from the respective funding rounds presented their projects and discussed their research processes and results.
The DDLitLab is impressed by the exciting, insightful and varied results and is looking forward to the continuation of some projects through follow-up projects and final theses beyond the actual funding period. We would like to thank all participating groups and students for presenting their results!
However, the conclusion of the second and third funding rounds does not mean the end of the funding line for students. Following the approved extension of the DDLitLab until the end of 2025, the fourth and final round of calls for student projects was launched on 15 April. Students have until 31 May to submit applications to receive support for their creative and diverse projects related to data literacy. Further information, for example on how to apply as a student research group, is available here.
