On 11 October, students from the 1st and 2nd funding rounds from the student projects workshop presented their project status. This event was an excellent showcase for the scientific and practical progress that the 10 groups presented to an audience consisting of the other groups and DDLitLab staff. The participants had the opportunity to find out about the latest developments and research progress in five final and five interim presentations.
The interdisciplinary dialogue between the groups from different disciplines that took place during the Q&A sessions after the presentations was particularly noteworthy. This dialogue not only promoted networking among the students, but also helped to deepen mutual understanding.
The breadth and depth of the data-driven projects stood out in particular. They ranged from a computer-aided analysis of cultural influences in 20th century Malay music to the use of no- and low-code platforms for programming support and the development of an adaptive, data-driven learning environment. These projects demonstrated the ability and potential of students to develop practical solutions to complex challenges in independent projects and to acquire new skills along the way.
Details of the projects in the 1st funding round can be found here and those in the 2nd funding round here.
The DDLitLab team would like to thank all participants, especially the student groups, for their committed presentations and their contribution to a successful event.
