Survey ChatGPT and MeFirst results on the use of generative AI at the University of Hamburg

How do students and teachers at Universität Hamburg feel about generative artificial intelligence, such as ChatGPT?

How often do they use it?

Over 1,500 members of Universität Hamburg took part in our ‘ChatGPT and ME’ survey in July 2023, providing insights into the new reality of life with generative AI at Universität Hamburg and initial answers to these questions.

Around 70% of students and 80% of lecturers stated that they use generative AI for a wide range of tasks to varying degrees. However, depending on which faculty they belong to, there were some major differences.
