Next winter semester, we will once again be offering a wide range of interdisciplinary courses for your free elective area. Maybe there's something for you or your fellow students? Feel free to sign up!
Seminars
- ISA-200.024 - BreAkIng Bad - Hacking the AI Act: In the practice-oriented project seminar ‘BreAkIng Bad: Hacking the AI Act’ at Universität Hamburg, you will deal with the interface of artificial intelligence, ethics and EU regulation. You will analyse an AI use case in interdisciplinary teams and take on the role of an advisory team. Your analysis will be based on the new EU ‘AI Act’ directive. You will analyse potential ethical problems as well as the impact of regulation on the AI use case. Depending on your skills, you will then create either consulting concepts or technical prototypes - Stine-Link.
- ISA-200.030 - Future fields of digitalisation: Data-driven digital innovations and generative AI: In this seminar, you will delve into the topics of ‘data-driven digital innovations’ and ‘generative artificial intelligence’, explore their core areas and can choose a topic for in-depth study either individually or in groups. The seminar is structured in six block dates – Stine-Link.
- 64-922 - Research-based learning for a sustainable and digital transformation: In the proseminar on digital transformation, you will deal with the transformation of many aspects of life into data through new technologies. With a view to climate change and distributive justice, the focus is on sustainable digitalisation. You will be encouraged to independently develop a project on the topic of sustainable digitalisation, which you will present at the end as a video, podcast or essay – Stine-Link.
- ISA-200.023 - Data-driven Collab Digital Lab: In our interdisciplinary seminar ‘Data-Driven Collab and Digital Lab’, you will work together with external practice partners to critically reflect on your data skills using real data and develop innovative solutions for current data challenges. You should have basic knowledge of maths, statistics and experience with Python or R to participate - Stine-Link.
Workshop
- ISA-200.026 - Data Horizons: Unlocking Data Mindset with SIGNAL IDUNA Group - A Co-Creative Data Literacy Workshop: Immerse yourself in the exciting world of data in the ‘Data Horizons’ workshop, gain hands-on experience and develop practical skills through creative methods and teamwork. Together with the SIGNAL IDUNA Group, you will master real challenges and learn how data influences business decisions - Stine-Link.
Lecture & Excercise
- 24-300.11 - Data Worlds I: Introduction to Data Science: In the course ‘Data Worlds I’ you will gain a basic understanding of data science, learn how information technology systems work and gain insights into statistical methods and machine learning, in particular neural networks and their applications – Stine-Link.
- 24-300.12 - Discovering data worlds with R: A practical introduction: The optional exercise on ‘Data Worlds I’ complements the lecture and offers you the opportunity to try out data analysis techniques in a practical way. You should have attended the lecture beforehand. Here you will learn the basics of the programming language R for data analysis, including the import of data and descriptive analysis techniques, even without programming experience. You will also be introduced to various machine learning algorithms and shown how to apply them – Stine-Link.
