Social Stress-Anticipation of Meditation Experts
The project deals with the long-term impacts of meditation on everyday life stress anticipation, primarily looking at physiological parameters as stress marker. The probands will be exposed to an everyday life social stress situation by means of the Trier Social Stress Tests (TSST). In contrast to other studies, the probands will not meditate immediately before or during the experiment. Thus, the general impact of long-term meditation can be contrasted to the acute impact. The results of the planed study are thus relevant from a preventive-medical point of view in the context of chronical stress and the resulting clinical pictures.
