Migration as a Topic of Biblical Texts and their reception in the Jewish Congregation of Hamburg and in the Evangelical Lutheran Congregation Bugenhagen-Groß Flottbek
In our project, we intend to concentrate on stories of flight in the Bible and their linguistic analysis and then start a dialogue with the Jewish Congregation of Hamburg and in the Evangelical Lutheran Congregation Bugenhagen-Groß Flottbek in a second step.
We will thematize the topic of migration and flight. Which texts are of importance to the members of the congregation in connection with their personal experiences? Our main interest will be, to what extent the personal narrative of the interviewees is connected to the texts of the Bible or consciously distances itself from them. In a third step, we will work out how individual Jews and Christians deal with the texts and integrate them in their lives. Afterwards, we will compare overlappings and differences between the users.
As an outlook, we envision a dialogue between the religions, in which the biblical narratives serve as a „mouthpiece” of the inner processes and the life of faith.
