Peacebuilding – Normative Change by Information?

There is a longstanding tradition in educational science in peacebuilding which has set itself the task to convey an understanding for the constructive settlement of conflict and a culture of peace. The research project dedicates itself to the question how the value of peace might be strengthened by peacebuilding and in particular by discussing informative movies. A central insight is that peace is not just the absence of war but that peace also involves the overcoming of indirect structural violence (Galtung). The goal of the research project is to examine how peacebuilding might succeed by conducting group interviews and to develop an enlarged education program for peacebuilding on this basis.
