An EEG-Study on the Influence of Racism on Empathy: Verification of an Intervention to eliminate Own Group Preference
People often categorize their social environment by ethnicity and empathy. People of the own ethnicity are allocated to the Ingroup, other ethnicities are allocated to the Outgroup. This is also called racial bias in empathy (RBE). The project contains a study on the research on RBE towards people with a migrant background. During a EEG measurement moods will be induced by Storytelling Tasks and randomized emotional and neutral pictures will be presented (Picture Viewing Task). The latter will be presented again in a second step after the participants have been divided into two groups (categorization migrant background or university affiliation). Afterwards questionaires on the subjective measurement of emotions inter alia racisms and social desirability.
