At the Fellow workshop on 22 November, a total of 30 teachers came together to reflect on their current courses and look ahead to the time after the teaching lab funding.
The workshop focussed on the questions and challenges they had identified: How can a foundation for basic digital and data literacy be created for all students? How can the teaching concepts developed become an integral part of university teaching in the future? What is the best way to deal with a heterogeneous student body? These and other questions were concretised in small groups, discussed intensively and then debated in plenary sessions.
One key outcome of the workshop is that dialogue between the subjects needs to be intensified. Networking across faculties is therefore a goal that the participants would like to realise in the long term. The fellows also made it clear that the promotion of digital and data skills should not depend solely on individual committed lecturers. Rather, these crucial key competences should be part of a larger, university-wide discussion about future-oriented teaching.
Basic information about the teaching lab can be found here. An overview of the teaching programmes funded until March 2024 can be found here.
The DDLitLab team would like to thank all participants, especially the fellows, for their committed exchange and their contribution to a productive workshop.
