Regina Schulz, Fellow in the project ‘Data and the digital world - a topic for schools and teaching!’, spoke in the podcast ‘Werkstatt Gespräch KI & Bildung’ from the Federal Agency for Civic Education about the consequences of AI for teaching and learning processes and how AI is changing school practice. She also provides specific insights into teaching practice with AI tools.
She says it's not about ‘how we do school with AI’. It is more important to look at ‘what AI does with schools’. What demands does artificial intelligence place on the design of lessons? How does it change our understanding of performance and examinations? And what do pupils still need to learn if AI can supposedly spit out all the information they need at any time?
Her experiences and practical examples from the podcast will be incorporated into the funded seminar ‘Understanding digital and data literacy and promoting it in schools - cooperation event with LI Hamburg’ in the winter semester 2023/24 in teacher training at UHH.
